Dear Parents and Guardians,
New Canaan High School's annual Open House will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Open House is co-sponsored by the school and the Parent Faculty Association (PFA). This evening provides an opportunity for you to become acquainted with the high school's program of study and to meet your child’s teachers. The evening's format does not allow for individual parent-teacher conferences, but such meetings may always be arranged at mutually convenient times in the future.
Class visitations will begin at 7:15 p.m. with a special orientation for parents of freshmen beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. The school administrators will be available throughout the evening in the Main Lobby to welcome you and answer any questions you may have. Additionally, we will have National Honor Society students positioned throughout the building to help you find the proper rooms and “get to class on time”.
Please ask your son or daughter to print you a copy of his/her schedule prior to the evening; we will have one print out per student available by the main office if necessary as well. We will be following the schedule of periods 1-8 consecutively (“A” day with the addition of period 8) and if your child’s schedule on “A” day includes a science lab, please consider visiting a health class or the physical education presentation during that time period. I hope you enjoy your "day" at New Canaan High School and find it interesting and informative.
Thanks to the generosity of the PFA, coffee and refreshments will be available throughout the evening in the Cafeteria. During your free period(s), you are welcome to visit the Library, meet the school counselors in the College and Career Center and our new PFA representatives in the front lobby, who will be sharing ways you can get involved in their excellent work at NCHS.
